Winter is well underway for Lake Tahoe and Truckee and the real estate market is remaining strong as we start 2019. We ended last year with another record breaking month, seeing the average sales price up $204,081 and the average days on market down 15 days, over the previous December. This winter is shaping up to be the most consistent in ten years, with a snowpack as of January 10 at 90% of “normal”. There is a series of storms forecasted to impact the greater Lake Tahoe region this week, meaning we are off to the races! Buyer interest remains high as inventory still remains tight. This time of year is typically when the real estate market takes a breath and preparation for the Spring begins. However, many agents (myself included) are reporting they are unusually busy for this time of the year, working with buyers and sellers. Perhaps it is a sign of the year ahead?
